Description of the role
The objective of the role is to provide substantive, organizational, logistical, and promotional assistance to the staff and the community of FLOSSK and Prishtina Hackerspace. In this process, the Community Builder will gain knowledge of the essential and operational aspects of FLOSSK’s work and, indirectly, the functioning of FOSS, as well as the interrelated dimensions of tech activism.
Community Builder will contribute to planning, promoting, and ensuring the smooth running of FLOSSK’s annual program as well as spontaneous events
The responsibilities of the role rely on these three main pillars and time engagement:
Event Management (50%)
Event Infrastructure, Logistics, Scheduling, Working within a budget for events, and managing spending accordingly;
Working closely with the Attendees of the events (facilitators and participants) where problem-solving and hosting during an event is a necessity;
Marketing duties of the role include online marketing by posting on social media pre, during, and post events.
Community Organizing (30% – 35%)
Community development;
Hosting local and international experts;
Support for the strengthening of FLOSSK’s community to undertake their development initiatives;
Helping to promote events and liaising with the community.
Research (15% – 20%)
Gathering feedback and data after an event and using it to inform decisions/future plans;
Coming up with new and innovative ideas – both for events and event promotion;
Conducting research on topics of relevance to FLOSSK’s Annual Program;
Working hours, payment and timeframe:
Hours per week: 25;
Schedule: Afternoon;
Compensation: 262 EUR net per month
Work is expected to begin on: the 15th of November and will last for six months.
