This project was developed to provide students and educators with modern, open-source geospatial tools and methodologies for geographical research. By integrating the “Geo for All” curriculum, the project aimed to update existing educational content and facilitate workshops focused on data collection, mapping, and remote sensing. The initiative fostered critical thinking, research capabilities, and technical skills in geospatial studies.

Activities

  • Sourcing and setting up laboratory equipment for geospatial research.
  • Recruiting participants from the Geography Department.
  • Hosting bi-monthly expert-led workshops on mapping, data analysis, and drone technologies.
  • Conducting monthly meetups and mapathons at Prishtina Hackerspace.

Beneficiaries:

  • Primary: Students and faculty members from the University of Prishtina’s Geography Department.
  • Secondary: The broader community, public institutions, and members of OSM & OSGeo local chapters.
